The 2025 Geekery Market is pleased to announce the generous donation of a 3D-printed Pit Droid, printed, assembled and customized by author Gerrit S. Overeem. All proceeds from the donation will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Metrolinas as part of our annual food drive.
When asked what inspired him to make the droid, Gerrit explained, “I had just finished building the Droideka and thought it needed a maintenance friend. So I built the Pit Droid with the same color scheme as the Droideka. Instead of the standard base, I went with the Imperial Cog one.”
This Pit Droid is 43″ high to the top of the head (48″ to the top of the antennas) and weighs approximately 8 lbs. The dome is held on with magnets so lights can be added by the owner is desired. Gerrit also added a futuristic-style tool for the droid to hold. Loosening the screws will allow the owner to pose the droid. The estimated value is between $3-400.
