What Else You Should Know About Them:
Describe all the geeky goodness you'll be bringing to the next Geekery Market! What kind of items will you be selling?
I’ll be bringing my sci-fi fantasy book series "Second Life of Mr. Hunt", a fast-paced adventure packed with ancient alien tech, strange new worlds, and one man trying to survive 50,000 years in the future. This year, Book 5 will be available, continuing the chaos with new realms, powerful enemies, and some unexpected twists. Signed paperbacks will be at the table, and I’m always happy to chat about the story, the characters, or what inspired it all. If you love action, mystery, and a little weird with your sci-fi, come say hi.
What is something that surprised you about making / selling your wares?
A few things surprised me. First, how fast time flies when you're deep in the writing zone. You sit down to finish a scene and suddenly it’s three hours later. Second, marketing is way harder than it looks. Writing the book is one thing, but getting it in front of readers is a whole different skill set. It’s been a learning curve, but a fun one, and you make a lot of new friends along the way.
What has been one of your favorite stories so far while running your business?
One of my favorite moments was when a reader bought the paperback of Book 1 online, then showed up at a con just to have me sign it. That kind of enthusiasm makes all the long writing nights worth it.
What is an interesting fact about your wares / business that you want to make sure everyone knows?
What I love telling people is that the "Second Life of Mr. Hunt" starts off in a way that feels familiar, like you know exactly where it’s going. Then a few chapters in, something shifts, and readers usually go, “Wait… what just happened?” It catches people off guard in the best way. What seems like your average sci-fi story turns into something way bigger, stranger, and more fun than they expected.
Looking over the list of artisans this year, what is one of the booths you are looking forward to visiting?
There are a lot of great vendors, but I’ve got a sweet tooth. So I’ll be stopping by Joyous Cakes by Josette.
Come see them live at The Geekery Market on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10am to 4PM at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center – 4751 NC Highway 49 (Event Center B). The event is FREE to the public, but we are requesting a donation of canned goods or cash which goes to our charity, Second Harvest Metrolina.
This location does charge for parking: $10 per car (credit/debit only). See you there!
