As usual, we’ll be introducing you all to our artisans/authors/artists, sponsors, and activities for the Market every week as we get closer to the big day.
Please allow me to introduce to you one of our returning artisans, Wanda Harward of Finding The Key Tarot! She began studying tarot about 30 years ago, and began reading professionally in 2017 at the urging of friends. She believes that Tarot can assist you providing direction, guidance, and prompts for personal growth. In addition to tarot readings, Wanda teaches tarot in classes and to individuals.
Answers to our 5 Geeky Questions
Tell us about the geeky goodness you’ll be bringing to the next Geekery Market! I’ll be at The Geekery to do tarot readings for you. If you’ve never had a reading, here’s your chance! If you have had readings previously, come by and see how my readings are different.
How did you get started doing what you do? When I retired in 2017 from working in social services, I had a chance to consider what I might like to do next. I thought I was going to work at a regular part time job for awhile, but I my friends encouraged me to consider doing tarot readings instead. I also do life coaching, and find that tarot and life coaching can work really well together, as well as separately.
What’s an item you are bringing that you are really excited about? In addition to in person tarot readings, I will have Mystery Reading envelopes available. Those are great if you don’t have time for a full reading, or if you want to take a gift to a friend. What are Mystery Readings? Well you’ll just have to come see – it’s a mystery!
Also, I am working with three friends on a project known as Tarot Roundtable. The Tarot Roundtable was created by four tarot reading friends who share a desire to teach. All of us are currently based in the Charlotte area. We work parties, events and give private readings. We teach classes about the Cards and help you develop your own intuition. Let us inspire you to live your best life!
What else would you like everyone to know about your wares? Many people think that tarot is as shown on TV and movies, and that it’s somehow spooky or scary. It’s really not. Tarot is best considered a tool for self reflection and personal transformation. It is less important find out what the future will hold (though that happens also), and more important for tarot to provide information to help you make the future you want happen.
What’s your favorite holiday story? I believe that would be the holiday classic “The Hogfather” by Terry Pratchette. Happy Hogswatch everyone!
