The Geekery Market Spotlight: Author Jen Guberman & The Neon Palm

Welcome to The Geekery Market (formerly the Muggles Market). We are excited for our next event – just in time for all your geeky holiday shopping needs! As usual, we’ll be introducing you all to our artisans/authors/artists, sponsors, and activities for the Market every week as we get closer to the big day.

Please allow me to introduce to you one of our artisans, Author Jen Guberman & The Neon Palm. Jen Guberman is an author, artist and cat mom!

Answers to our 5 Geeky Questions

Tell us about the geeky goodness you’ll be bringing to the next Geekery Market! I’ll be bringing my books, clay crafts, and jewelry! There will be five books available: Eos, Fortitude, and Dawn (my dystopian trilogy); Thieves of Joy (a sci-fi toxic romance/drama); Deathriser of Darkwood: From the Ashes (my YA fantasy that’s coming soon!) As far as the clay/crafty goodies go, I’ll have some handmade clay dragons, handmade clay ghosts in hats, holographic dragon eyes, and a mixture of all kinds of jewelry.

How did you get started doing what you do?I’ve never been able to sit still. Even when I was younger, I was trying to write stories and create unique crafts in my free time. There are old pictures somewhere out there of my friends in the cafeteria in elementary school and they’re all smiling at the camera while I’m to the side with my nose in a notebook.

What’s an item you are bringing that you are really excited about? I’m most excited about sharing my books with everyone at the Geekery Market! My newest book, Deathriser of Darkwood: From the Ashes, is coming out this fall and should be available in time for the market. I’ve been working hard on it for a while now, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!

What else would you like everyone to know about your wares? My handmade clay dragons and clay ghosts are each entirely unique! I don’t make duplicates. Each one has its own look, personality, and NAME! When you adopt one (the dragons or the ghosts), you get a little certificate with their name as well.

What’s your favorite holiday story? Don’t judge me. I know this is probably the most common answer out there, but I LOVE Elf.
