Today we welcome back to The Geekery Market Space Wizard Science Fantasy, an indie publisher focusing primarily on queer and BIPOC writers and stories. They pride themselves on making sure authors get great exposure and marketing for their books. They are headed by William Tracy, an NC native and a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy. He has also trained in Wado-Ryu karate since 2003 and runs his own dojo in Raleigh NC. He is an avid video and board gamer, a beekeeper, a reader, and of course, a writer.
Preorder Info:
1) You can always buy direct from our website at https://space-wizard.square.site/. If you want the item as a preorder for the Geekery Market, just send a note to wctracy@williamctracy at the same time, and I will mark down the item. 2) You can also see the books that are coming soon here: https://www.spacewizardsciencefantasy.com/coming-soon 3) We also have a campaign every June, which is a GREAT way to preorder books and support the business! Check it out here: https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/space-wizard-science-fantasy/space-wizard-science-fantasy-year-3. All June, you can order any of the existing Space Wizard products, as well as any of the books releasing from June 2024 to June 2025. If you let me know you'll be at the market, I'll be happy to bring any books that are out at that time (likely the first 6-7 releases).

What Else You Should Know About Them:
What kind of geeky goodness will you be bringing with you to the next Geekery Market?
Space Wizard Science Fantasy is an NC small press focusing on telling queer science fiction and fantasy stories. We have almost 40 titles available and more on the way. We also sell cool keychains, stickers, buttons, and pins, as well as homemade beeswax candles from our apiary, and occasionally, seasonal jellies.
What's an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?
This year, I'm thrilled to announce we're putting out not one, but two new RPG manuals! One is for a space opera with music-based magic where you can create your own spells from keywords and uses a push-your-luck dice mechanic. The second is a post-apocalyptic setting with giant crab monsters and human scavengers. You can play as either one! You can back either of them in the campaign, and I hope to have copies ready close to the end of the year. If I have them, they'll be at the market!
What was the first item you ever made? How did you learn to make it?
The first book I put out was Tuning the Symphony, which was my 6th or 7th story and my first novella. Since then, I've written a whole lot more, and opened my own small press!
What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?
Space Wizard prides (pun intended) itself of publishing great LGBTQ and queer scifi and fantasy books. They're not just great stories, they also strive to lift up marginalized voices in the scifi/fantasy community!
If you could travel anywhere in space or time, real or imagined, where would you want to go?
I'd love to go to the first city humans build on another planet and see how it's put together!
Come see them live at The Geekery Market on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10am to 4PM at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center - 4751 NC Highway 49 (Event Center B). The event is FREE to the public, but we are requesting a donation of canned goods or cash which goes to our charity, Second Harvest Metrolina.
This location does charge for parking: $8 per car (credit/debit only). See you there!
