What Else You Should Know About Them:

What kind of geeky goodness will you be bringing with you to the next Geekery Market?

Mocha Memoirs Press will bring diverse inclusive science fiction, horror, and fantasy works. For the last 13 years, MMP have given a space for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ authors to share their voice in speculative fiction. When you purchase our titles, you are supporting those marginalized voices in publishing.

What's an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?

We are really excited to bring the non-fiction collection of horror essays by award-winning author, L. Marie Wood. We're also excited to offer the second installments of both Bram Stoker finalist, Sumiko Saulson's Somnalia, and Crymsyn Hart's latest to the Forest of Bones series.

What was the first item you ever made? How did you learn to make it?

The first book we ever published was a science fiction novel, Warriors of the Four Worlds. I learned the aspects of publishing a work, by first being a small press published author with dozens of small presses from 1998 to 2010. I self-published as well. When I was ready to start my own science fiction small press, I had the skill set and the connections to ensure our books were professionally edited, proofread and had cover art.

What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?

One of the things I would like for everyone to know about our wares is they're unlike many other titles in the genres. When you support our press, you assist us in giving voice to those whose stories continue to be muted or ignored in the genres of science fiction, horror, and fantasy. Our staff is 95% women, non-binary, and BIPOC personnel. We don't utilized AI in our covers or in our stories.

If you could travel anywhere in space or time, real or imagined, where would you want to go?

If could travel to anywhere in time or space, I would love to go to Seoul, Korea.
