What Else You Should Know About Them:

What kind of geeky goodness will you be bringing with you to the next Geekery Market?

We'll have embroidered dice bags and wall art, intricate horned headpieces, flower crowns, geeky handmade clothing, and costume/cosplay garments. Since this will be the last event before the midwinter obligatory gift-giving season begins, I'll also have some reusable fabric gift bags!

What's an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?

So, there's this dress. It's a vintage 1955 pattern, and made of (machine washable!) comic book-inspired cotton. It has pockets. It has a flouncy skirt. It has Personality! And I'm sure one of you fine people would love to give it a forever home.

What was the first item you ever made? How did you learn to make it?

I'm sure there were other things, but the first piece of clothing I remember making was a corset. I was a freshman in college, and I decided to make it for a musical theatre class performance. I sat on the floor of my dorm room, operating the sewing machine pedal with my knee, because that was the only space I had to work. I looked great, and totally bombed the performance. (Ironically, it took me another 5 years before I realized I was a costume designer, not an actor.)

What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?

Fabulous Fashion for Weird Folk! Hollow Hills Couture brings geeky and faerie fashion to you! Garments and accessories to bring out the magic and fun in your life. All handmade, all carefully crafted and obsessively engineered for use in the human world (Thanks, it has pockets!), my products are designed to make you feel special, at any budget.

If you could travel anywhere in space or time, real or imagined, where would you want to go?

I would love to apprentice in a Victorian dressmaker shop! It's one of my favorite eras of clothing design, and I would love to learn the drafting and hand sewing techniques, firsthand.
