Welcome to another Geekery Market Spotlight. Today we'd like to introduce you to popular returning authors, Darin Kennedy & J. Matthew Saunders. Darin Kennedy is a board certified family physician and a graduate of Wake Forest University, both undergraduate and medical school, in his hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He has written and published ten novels along with numerous short stories across several magazines and anthologies. His latest series, Songs of the Ascendant, is thus far comprised of three books: Shadows of the Night, All Fired Up, and You Better Run. He currently lives in Charlotte, NC. J. Matthew Saunders is a writer of urban and historical fantasy as well as a little horror. He is also a graphic designer, runner, history geek, and a fan of the Celtic fiddle. He was born in the small Appalachian town of Clayton, Georgia and grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. He received a B.A. in history from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree from the School of Journalism at the University of South Carolina. He also earned a law degree while living in California. Matthew has been making up stories for as long as he can remember, an inclination he attributes to his upbringing in the American South. He currently lives near Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and two children.

What kind of geeky goodness will you be bringing with you to the next Geekery Market?

Darin and Matthew will be bringing copies of all their various books for purchase and signing. Contemporary Fantasy and Dark Fantasy/Horror will be the orders of the day!

What's an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?

Darin is excited to have, for the first time at The Geekery Market, his new contemporary fantasy series, Songs of the Ascendant! Matthew is excited to be bringing a ton of paperback and hardcover editions of his latest book, a werewolf novel called Nothing but the Blood.

What was the first item you ever made? How did you learn to make it?

Darin's first book was Pawn's Gambit, the first in his The Pawn Stratagem series, a contemporary fantasy based on the book of chess. Matthew's first book was Daughters of Shadow & Blood Book I: Yasmin, a dark fantasy about the Brides of Dracula.

What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?

We will have paperback editions of all our books and hardcovers of most! Signatures are free with purchase! And we'll be happy to chat with anyone who drops by the table.

If you could travel anywhere in space or time, real or imagined, where would you want to go?

Darin would like to see a real live dinosaur back in the day, and Matthew would like to chat with Vlad the Impaler - admittedly, in both cases, from behind some serious body armor!
