Retro Horror at Arysley Grand Cinemas is back!

What’s your favorite scary movie?

It’s spooky season, and you know what that means! Time to watch some scary cinema! Our friends at Ayrsley Grand Cinemas have you covered! They are, once again, hosting their annual Retro Horror screenings. Each week, they show two different retro horror movies, one at 7:00pm and one at 9:00pm. Tickets for each of these screenings is only $5! They encourage you to order your tickets in advance as some screenings are sure to sell out!

Here is the line-up for Retro Horror 2024:

October 4-10

7:00pm Rosemary’s Baby – starring Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes and Ruth Gordon. Never trust your neighbors with your fertility problems.

9:00pm Possession – starring Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. Divorce can bring out the worst in people.

October 11-17

7:00pm The Ring – starring Naomi Watts. It’s a good thing Blockbuster didn’t have this video tape on their shelves!

9:00pm Poltergeist – starring Craig Nelson and JoBeth Williams. They’re here!

October 18-24

7:00pm An American Werewolf in London – starring James Naughton and Jenny Agutter. A naked American man stole that kid’s balloons!

9:00pm Silver Bullet – starring Corey Haim and Gary Busey. Holy jumped-up baldheaded Jesus palomino!

October 25-31

7:00pm The Exorcist – starring Linda Blair and Max von Sydow. Admit it, Tubular Bells immediately started playing in your head.

9:00pm The Shining – starring Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall. All work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy.

Ayrsley Grand Cinemas is located at 9110 Kings Parade Blvd in Charlotte. It is one of Charlotte’s few remaining independently owned movie theaters. They screen a variety of first-run movies, in addition to their special retro programs. Every Tuesday is Discount Tuesday, where they sell $6 tickets to first-run movies. There is plenty of parking and nearby food and drink, if you want to make it a full night. Check out their website at www.ayrsleysinemas.com for more information!
