FairyNerdy
Welcome to another Geekery Market spotlight. Today we bring you returning artisan, Fairy Nerdy, aka Laura Stinson!
FairyNerdy is a disabled-woman-owned small business with a focus on the nerdy, sarcastic, and feminist. We are lovers of dogs, fandoms, books, and human rights! We are a safe space, and everyone is welcome.
What Else You Should Know About Them:
Describe all the geeky goodness you'll be bringing to the next Geekery Market! What kind of items will you be selling?
I'll primarily be selling my vinyl stickers! These are always super popular, and I, of course, have some new designs. I also recently figured out how to make sticker sheets, and I've been going a little crazy! Think NSFW Christmas greetings and spooky Halloween-themed stickers, as well as some fandom-based ones. I'll also have plenty of sticker BOOKS on hand, so you have somewhere to stick all of your new investments.
What is something that surprised you about making / selling your wares?
It's always pleasantly surprising when someone approaches me and says that they were looking for me, specifically! Whether they follow me on social media or found me through the event's website, having someone say that they sought me out gives me all kinds of warm fuzzies.
What has been one of your favorite stories so far while running your business?
One year, someone wanted to take a selfie with me! Like I'm famous! How wild is that?!
What is an interesting fact about your wares / business that you want to make sure everyone knows?
I don't know if it's interesting, but in this day and age, I feel it's important that people know I do NOT use AI to create any of my work. Everything is drawn or designed by ME. nd, just for funsies, I'm also the host of a disability-themed podcast, Bad Attitudes: An Uninspiring Podcast About Disability.
Looking over the list of artisans this year, what is one of the booths you are looking forward to visiting?
How am I supposed to choose just one?! I'm always excited to see what my vendor peers are offering each year and to see what new booths show up!
Come see them live at The Geekery Market on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10am to 4PM at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center – 4751 NC Highway 49 (Event Center B). The event is FREE to the public, but we are requesting a donation of canned goods or cash which goes to our charity, Second Harvest Metrolina.
This location does charge for parking: $10 per car (credit/debit only). See you there!
