Welcome to another Geekery Market Spotlight! Today we welcome back Darin Kennedy & J. Matthew Saunders, Fantasy Authors.

Darin Kennedy is a board certified family physician and a graduate of Wake Forest University, both undergraduate and medical school, in his hometown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residency at the turn of the century after three years at Carilion Health System in lovely Roanoke, Virginia and went on to serve eight years in the United States Army as an Army Doctor, Flight Surgeon, Family Physician, Family Medicine Residency Faculty, and got to spend most of 2003 and early 2004 in sunny Iraq. It is there he accomplished his other lifelong dream, to become a storyteller, writer, and novelist. J. Matthew Saunders was born in the small Appalachian town of Clayton, Georgia and grew up in Greenville, South Carolina. He received a B.A. in history from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree from the School of Journalism at the University of South Carolina. He also earned a law degree while living in California. Matthew has been making up stories for as long as he can remember, an inclination he attributes to his upbringing in the American South, where storytelling is just part of everyday life.

Books about everything from dreamscape murder mysteries to the origin stories of Dracula's Brides!

What is something that surprised you about making / selling your wares?

Darin and Matthew always love when the exact right reader comes by the table and we have exactly what they're looking for.

What has been one of your favorite stories so far while running your business?

How long it truly takes to put 100,000 words in any semblance of order... ;-)

What is an interesting fact about your wares / business that you want to make sure everyone knows?

There will be both trilogies/series as well as standalone books available at our table for all the fantasy lovers out there.

Looking over the list of artisans this year, what is one of the booths you are looking forward to visiting?

I'm eager to see all the other authors that frequent The Geekery Market and catch up. Also, hoping there is some fudge!
