Asgard Farm

Asgard Farm are a mother (Allison) & daughter (Branwyn) team running their farm out of Gibsonville, NC. They moved to the North Carolina Piedmont region in 2007 looking to escape the rat race of south Florida.

In addition to the wonderful items they are bringing to The Geekery Market, they have a small farm, and are proud to provide wholesome fresh food to their local community.

What Else You Should Know About Them:

Describe all the geeky goodness you'll be bringing to the next Geekery Market! What kind of items will you be selling?

We'll have our famous goat milk soap, which is handmade using milk from our own herd of dairy goats. We'll also have items from our resin workshop, including tumblers and mugs, keychains, bookmarks and badge reels.

What is something that surprised you about making / selling your wares?

Probably how loyal a lot of our customers are! We ship soap all over the continental United States, mostly to people who have moved away since becoming customers. It's sort of heartwarming to know people go out of their way to order from us, even when we're no longer their local farm.

What has been one of your favorite stories so far while running your business?

There's a preschool we take some animals to every spring as an end-of-year activity. A lot of kids have never seen a goat or a chicken up close before, so it's really fun to provide that opportunity. We talk to the class about sustainability and being gentle with animals, and the goats love being pet so much!

What is an interesting fact about your wares / business that you want to make sure everyone knows?

Our handmade soap contains milk from our herd of dairy goats, and some of the scents also contain honey from our small beehive. We try to consider the environment in everything we do.

Looking over the list of artisans this year, what is one of the booths you are looking forward to visiting?

As this is our first time at the Geekery Market, everything is new and exciting! We're especially looking forward to stopping by Functional Mud Pottery. We both love stoneware-it's the only sort of mug that lasts long getting toted around the farm.
