Welcome to another Geekery Market Spotlight. Today we have a new artisan for the Market: Zero Pop Art! Zero Pop Art creates wooden Robot art pieces inspired by popular culture. From superheroes to sci-fi favorites, original designs, or custom orders, there is a special Bot for everyone. In 2020, the artist behind Zero Pop Art, Paolo, found himself in a creative reset after a decade of creating 2-D art and murals. After years of designing characters and experimenting with various sculpture techniques, he started creating these wooden bots, and Zero Pop Art was born! Just like the conditions that ‘reset’ Paolo into this new form of art, Zero Pop Art hopes its Bots are a reminder to stay creative and that anything is possible!

What Else You Should Know About Them:
What kind of geeky goodness will you be bringing with you to the next Geekery Market?
We are bringing pop art mashups in robot form! For example: a pokemon gameboy robot. Handmade art pieces make perfect one of a kind gifts for hard to buy for geeks or yourself.
What's an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?
Fugly weirdo robots. I have been trying to make ugly weirdo robots that nobody asked for, and everybody wants.
What was the first item you ever made? How did you learn to make it?
I have been making things forever, my whole life has been about making stuff.
What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?
The bots I make are here to make people happy. I am happy to create custom pieces for almost any idea.
If you could travel anywhere in space or time, real or imagined, where would you want to go?
Some sort of free energy technological utopia would be just fine.
Come see them live at The Geekery Market on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10am to 4PM at the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center - 4751 NC Highway 49 (Event Center B). The event is FREE to the public, but we are requesting a donation of canned goods or cash which goes to our charity, Second Harvest Metrolina.
This location does charge for parking: $8 per car (credit/debit only). See you there!
