We are excited to announce the return of the Muggles Market, just in time for Valentine’s Day! This year’s theme is Muggles Market: Love and Plunder, combining our adoration of pirates and love. As usual, you have a wonderful opportunity to get to know our artists, writers, artisans, and entertainment through our Muggles Market Spotlights.
Sadie Bridges of Sadie SFX is a new artisan with our Muggles Markets. We asked them a few questions about their life, work, and what treasures they’ll be bringing to Muggles Market: Love and Plunder.
Please tell us what you’ll be doing at Muggle Market.
At the Muggles Market, I’ll be doing facepainting full of designs from all your favorite fandoms, from Harry Potter to Star Wars and anything in between!
How did you get started?
I started with SFX makeup when I was in the 6th grade- bruises, cuts, scars, and that morphed into more complex pieces, like freaky zombie looks or a face paint of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.
What’s an item or activity you are bringing that you are really excited about?
I’m very excited about some new designs, specifically the Harry Potter ones. I’m sort of a Potterhead myself, so those always seem the coolest!
What else would you like everyone to know about you and your work?
I’m the biggest theatre nerd. I can list an actors resume from the top of my head. I’d like to think I know pretty much everything about theatre, and love learning about the little facts and stories here and there.
What’s your favorite love or pirate story and why?
My favorite love story is totally Anastasia and Dimitri from Anastasia. That movie was literally foundational to my childhood since I watched it for the first time, and Dimitri has just been the standard ever since.
