We are excited to announce the return of the Muggles Market, just in time for Valentine’s Day! This year’s theme is Muggles Market: Love and Plunder, combining our adoration of pirates and love. As usual, you have a wonderful opportunity to get to know our artists, writers, artisans, and entertainment through our Muggles Market Spotlights.
Caroline Humphrey of Part Time Princess Shop is a returning artisan and long time friend of our Muggles Markets. We asked them a few questions about their life, work, and what treasures they’ll be bringing to Muggles Market: Love and Plunder.
Please tell us all about the plunder you’ll be bringing to Muggles Market.
I’ll be bringing my illustrations, which I have available as stationery sets, vinyl stickers, washi tape, keychains, and few other fun things!
How did you get started making your glorious plunder?
I’ve always made art! Once I graduated from UNC Charlotte, I knew I wanted to open an Etsy store to sell my stuff. I started with only art prints and stickers, and am having fun expanding into other types of stationery.
What’s an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?
I’m super excited about my hotel keychains! They really elevate your keys 😉 I have three different designs, though my favorite is currently “Part Time Princess, Full Time Queen”!
What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?
I guess I haven’t said yet: my art is inspired by fairy tales and happily ever after and magic. So you’ll see a lot of mermaids and witches and princesses as well as sparkles and pink!
What’s your favorite love or pirate story and why?
My favorite love story is Beauty and the Beast! I love finding retellings of it and seeing people’s interpretations. It gets me every time!
