We are excited to announce the return of the Muggles Market, just in time for Valentine’s Day! This year’s theme is Muggles Market: Love and Plunder, combining our adoration of pirates and love. As usual, you have a wonderful opportunity to get to know our artists, writers, artisans, and entertainment through our Muggles Market Spotlights.
Natalie Roberts of Elevated Sensory Play is a new artisan with our Muggles Markets. We asked Natalie a few questions about their life, work, and what treasures they’ll be bringing to Muggles Market: Love and Plunder.
Please tell us all about the plunder you’ll be bringing to Muggles Market.
Plunder for collectors one and all! Handpainted wooden peg dolls, such as super heroes, pirates, space warriors, and L-O-V-E pegdoll sets. Sensory sets will be limited to to our pirate, valentine, and super hero sets, with a catalogue show casing other sets available for order.
How did you get started making your glorious plunder?
I started creating pegdolls and sensory sets in my classroom, and my amazing tribe of kids swooned for them. I got hooked creating these imaginative worlds and peg dolls, and I am now bringing the fun outside of my classroom walls.
What’s an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?
The super hero kokeshi , Star Wars, and Harry Potter peg doll sets.
What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?
I handpaint all items with love. I LOVE custom orders! If you can send me a picture of your desired character, I can paint it.
What’s your favorite love or pirate story and why?
I love the story of Thumbelina. The love story between her and Prince Cornelius has been my all time favorite since I was a young girl. I loved how all of the animals helped her in her journey to reconnect with her prince.
