We are excited to announce the return of the Muggles Market, just in time for Valentine’s Day! This year’s theme is Muggles Market: Love and Plunder, combining our adoration of pirates and love. As usual, you have a wonderful opportunity to get to know our artists, writers, artisans, and entertainment through our Muggles Market Spotlights.
Jess DesRochers of Wild Banshee Workshop is a new artisan at our Muggles Markets. We asked Jess a few questions about their life, work, and what treasures they’ll be bringing to Muggles Market: Love and Plunder.
Please tell us all about the plunder you’ll be bringing to Muggles Market.
I make USB powered LED mushroom teacups, lanterns, wreathes, cauldrons and more!
How did you get started making your glorious plunder?
I have been a crafter/maker for larp events for a long time. Typically I make gear, garb, and monsters. This was born out of that, and just kind of became my thing!
What’s an item you are bringing that you are really excited about?
The mushroom teacups are probably the cutest thing I make, and definitely a crowd pleaser. These are made inside of vintage orphan teacups and are always one of a kind. They come in all different colors and patterns. All of them light up either with static lights or flickering fairy lights.
What else would you like everyone to know about your wares?
Everything I make is customizable if you order ahead and can be any color/design/shape since I don’t use pre-strung lights in any of my projects. These are all handmade from the get go, soldered, painted, and assembled by me!
What’s your favorite love or pirate story and why?
Favorite love story is definitely Samwise Gamgee and Rosie Cotton! I’m a huge Lord of the Rings fan!
You can find Wild Banshee Workshop on the interwebs! They do accept pre-orders. You can place pre-orders via Facebook or Etsy.
