Welcome to another Muggles Market Spotlight for 2017! Today, we are delighted to announce the addition of new artisan Clinksdrinks to our second annual Muggles Market at this year’s Geek Gala. Kaitlyn Clinkscales took a few minutes to answer some questions about her business and general geekery.
- What kinds of items will you be selling at this year’s Muggles Market?
We will be selling tons of intricately engraved laser engraved glass, including house crests in pints, beer steins, and wine glasses, as well as some other fandoms! - How did you first get started making these things?
I started working with lasers back in college, but really got into it more after noticing that doing intense engraving with glass was almost impossible with decals and acid. I opted to upgrade to the laser and I’ve gotten crazier with glass ever since. - What has been one of your favorite projects to work on?
My favorite project so far has been my Secret of Mana NES cover art glass. It’s crazy detailed and very beautiful. - What else can you tell us about yourself?
I’m just a geeky gamer that loves everything from Harry Potter to Betrayal at House on the Hill to Sailor Moon. I love making crazy glass because I feel like it’s a classy way to show off your favorite things. - So this year’s Geek Gala pays homage to Godzilla movies – if you were to create a Godzilla movie today – what type of nemesis do you think he should fight against?
He would definitely fight a huge Rilakkuma style bear.
