Hello again, my geeky friends.
This weeks article will be very very short due to a couple of problems beyond my control.
First, work is hitting me hard this week with a couple of screenings and a manager’s meeting that must be dealt with.
Second, allergies and a mild stomach issue has me under the weather.
Third, and probably most important, this week’s releases leave a lot to be desired.
That last point is really the main reason. If this were Pacific Rim or Man of Steel weekend, I would stay up late or work through the sneezing to bring you a nice long article, but with what I know is coming this weekend, I just can’t pull it together enough to care.
This weekend brings us a concert film from the boy-band sensation of the moment, One Direction. The most interesting thing about the film is that it was directed by noted documentarian, Morgan Spurlock, who is best known for his fast food expose, Super-size me.
The single other wide-release this weekend is the Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez thriller Getaway. Ethan Hawke’s wife was kidnapped by Brad Pitt’s father-in-law and he needs Selena’s help in getting her back. If that sounds interesting to you, then give it a shot and let me know your thoughts.
I apologize for the brevity of this week’s column, but I promise I will make up for it next weekend. I will give you 900 words of why Vin Diesel is a genius for bringing Riddick back to his roots and bringing along Kara Thrace for the ride.
Until then, Keep the Projector Threaded.
