Zach Pulliam grew up playing all sorts of games, everything from table top to arcade. Throughout the years he has made a great many good friends via shared enjoyment of gaming. The idea of opening someplace where people come and enjoy arcade and console games with old friends and make new ones was a dream that is about to become a full on reality here in Charlotte.
Abari Game Bar will be opening in May in a 3,000 square foot space between NoDa Brewing and Birdsong Brewing Company. Classic arcade games like PacMan and Street Fighter will be available, and for the pinball wizards who need a fix there will be at least five machines including Nightmare on Elm Street, Stern X.-Men, and F-14 Tomcat, just to name a few. There is a plan to rotate arcade and pinball games so that no one becomes bored and hopefully everyone gets a chance to play some of their favorite games. Konami fans are in real luck, Zach has acquired all the multi-player games including X-men for people to test there mad skills out on with other players. Now, for the cherry on top, Abari will have Killer Queen, the world’s only 10 person arcade game. Gamer’s can also enjoy various console games that will be set up in special areas.

Tournaments will be held from time to time for various games with overhead screens showing all the action for everyone to enjoy. No more crowding around the one game.

Abari Game Bar will feature local and state brews, and a full bar. Food is BYOF, but they are working on having food trucks available for patrons. The arcade games will take quarters.
You can find Abari Game Bar on Facebook. Feel free to let Zach know what arcade games you would like to play and keep up with what is happening with them. Opening dates will be announced on The Charlotte Geeks FB page as soon as we get them.
