5 Questions With: Bobby Nash

I first met Bobby Nash at ConCarolinas back in 2011, and then saw him again at Charlotte ComiCon the following year. A prolific writer, Bobby has a long list of works in his bibliography.  I recently caught up with Bobby via email, and he agreed to answer a few questions for us.

  1. For the uneducated, how would you describe Bobby Nash?
Bobby Nash is a mystery wrapped in… no, wait. Bobby Nash is an island in a… no, that’s not right either. Bobby Nash is a smartass. Well, that one is true, but I think I prefer Bobby Nash is a writer. Yeah. I like that last one best. Bobby Nash is a writer. I write novels, comic books, short stories, graphic novels, and have dabbled in screenplays as well. Oh, and I was recently awarded the 2013 Pulp Ark Award for Best Author, which is pretty darn cool, I think.
  2. Novels, Short Stories/Novellas, Comic Books/Graphic Novels, Podcasts and more – how do you have time to do everything?
I keep hearing about this thing called sleep. I’m hoping to try it one day. Ha! Ha! In all seriousness, I’m not really sure how I do it. I guess having no life helps. In truth, it’s just a matter of sitting down and making myself do the work, which sounds easier than it actually is, mind you. Thankfully, I love telling stories so that helps. There are days though where a vacation sounds like a good idea too. I am long overdue.
  3. What current projects are you working on?  Where can we see you next?
I’m currently working on a Fight Card novel for Fight Card Books called Barefoot Bones. After that I start on a Honey West/Domino Lady team up novel for Moonstone Books. Then it’s back to work on Evil Intent, the follow up to my novel, Evil Ways, for BEN Books.

Books coming soon include The Avenger: Roaring Heart of the Crucible in May from Moonstone Books. Also from Moonstone in May is The Spider: Extreme Prejudice. I have a short story in each of them. I also co-wrote with Nancy Holder a Domino Lady/Sherlock Holmes comic book coming in May as well. There’s a Big Bad anthology coming out soon (title pending) and Tales From The Zero Hour’s Weird Tales anthology. Plus more, but I don’t know dates as yet. Sometimes I don’t know when a book is being released until it’s out.
  4. If someone was going to read one of your works for the first time, which one would you recommend?
I guess it would depend on what type of stories they like. Personally, I like to recommend my novel, Evil Ways or any of the Lance Star: Sky Ranger volumes.
  5. For this year’s Geek Gala, our theme is Alien Invasion – what advice do you have if Aliens invade earth?
Don’t panic, but be prepared for crap to go sideways just in case.
