Pre-Geek Gala Fun and Games
Whether you are local to town, or you are traveling in for a great weekend, our PreGala activities are a great time to mix and mingle at our host hotel. Get your game on with No Ordinary Gamers, and stay tuned for some other fun activities in the works. Or just hang out at the hotel bar and get to know your fellow geeks!
Saturday, November 2nd
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Muggles Market
Come check out our one-day-only bazaar of handcrafted curiosities and eccentricities. We will have 50+ artisan booths of awesome for you to browse and buy from – things you can’t just buy at your local stores. And you don’t even have to worry about using the Floo Network and accidentally ending up in the wrong place!
In addition, we will have an Muggles Art Shop of goodness where you can buy original artwork from local and visiting artists.
10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Geek Short Film Fest
Join us for our 7th annual film fest and watch some amazing independent films from across the world! All films are typically 30 minutes or less – and we have some amazing past entrants so we know this year will be awesome. Free to the public – with donations accepted for our operating costs.
7:00 PM – Midnight Geek Gala Main Event
It’s the geekiest party in the Carolinas for 11 straight years! Join us as we attempt to do ALL THE THINGS all at once!
Scheduled activities include:
- Live musical performances by Mikey Mason and Valentine Wolfe
- Ghost Stories by Tally Johnson
- Geeks Got Talent! Contest with $150 first prize
- Costume Contest with prizes for best male, female and group
- Trivia Contest
- Psychic Card Readers & Caricatures
- Geeky Goody Basket Raffle
